Hello

Sorry I haven't updated in over three years.   Life goes on.   Willie, Goobie, Woody, Flip Flop and Maddie have gone to the bridge.  
Eddie, Bailey and Binx have been added to the bunch.
I'm working for the State of NJ as a case manager.

Six months

Six months, much as happened.

I'm working. Not making much but I am working. I am working three part-time jobs. One is for the Census Bureau, one is for Princeton University and the third is for a medical day program in North Jersey.

Both Gracie and Smitten crossed over the bridge. Smitten in August and Gracie in December. I miss them both.

Willie is my new foster. He is a handsome white red-eyed New Zealand. He may be a keeper. I am adding a mini-rex named LB to the bunch. I found him on craigslist. I hope to add another special needs bun to the fold after the New Year. More on him later.

Christmas is here and it's snowing. Actually it is a blizzard here in NJ.

Note to self. Don't wait six months to update.

Another pointless post

Just in a mood.

Smitten is now paralyzed. She is doing okay. I just have to make sure she is kept clean. She likes the dog bed I bought for her. I bought two.

The other rabbits are doing well. I have a guest bun in the bedroom. Ally is her name. She was suppose to be adopted but we held her back due to illness. She is doing better today. So hopefully, the adoption doesn't fall through.

Finally working but not much. It's a struggle.

Smitten and the rest

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I just haven't been in the mood.

Smitten was in the hospital in November. She is doing better. She still has weakness in her hind quarters. It is probably the dreaded EC. As long as she eating and enjoying life I will everything I can for her.

Still not working. I'm not even sure I can unemployment as I quit my last job. I figured they were going to fire me anyway.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to keep my condo if I don't start working soon. I'm already three months behind. Probably will be four months.

Not Lost

I haven't forgotten about Archie and her babies. I did rescue her friend Jordy. He is with another foster.

I also recently bailed out 11 others from the same shelter. There were six young rabbits, four are lop mixes and two white New Zealands. There was a young Californian male. I have two Dutch girls (probably sisters), a Silver Marten female and an English Spot male.

The Dutch sisters I named Claire and Gracie. The Silver Marten is named Marti and the Charlie is the English Spot. Charlie was neutered a week ago. Claire and Marti will be spayed within the next week or so. Gracie was very underweight when I got her and she has coccidia (a parasite). She also had a leg injury. She has put on weight and her leg is better.

Least we forget...

Archie was just another cast off stray pet in a noisy overcrowded animal shelter. She also was a mother rabbit protecting her newborn babies. Saturday morning a shelter worker was cleaning the cage and moved Archie's babies. She bit the shelter worker. Their lives were ended that morning.

This incident made me sick. I have taken action to make sure that this is less likely to happen again. I can't say it won't happen again but with some education it will decrease the chances that another rabbit or any other animal for that matter will not meet Archie's fate.

And Archie is just not another pet discarded by humans. Her voice will be heard.

And so it goes...

And so did the job after a week and a half. Budget cuts. Why did the heck did they hire me then? Back on unemployment for me.
